Legislators from Central Kenya have accused CORD leader Raila Odinga if inciting Kenyans against the Kikuyu community.

This follows the appointment of Dr. Patrick Ngugi Njoroge as the new Central Bank Governor replacing Njuguna Ndungu.

Speaking yesterday, Kikuyu legislators led by Dennis Waweru (Dagoretti South) and Kabando wa Kabando (Mukurwe-Ini), warned the former PM and CORD to leave the Kikuyu community alone.

They said the IMF veteran, Dr. Ngungi, was the most qualified of all that applied and that he deserved the job because there was no one like him.

The legislators wondered why Raila never opposed the appointment of his sister to KEMRI recently by Uhuru, or even Eugene Wamalwa as Cabinet Secretary for Water, saying the former PM was fooling the rest of his supporters to revolt against Uhuru/ Ruto’s Government while him and his family enjoy fruits from the very Government.

“Whenever anyone from Central Kenya is appointed to a top government or parastatal position, some people are never happy and now they are trying to incite Kenyans against the Kikuyu community just because Uhuru appointed another Kikuyu as CBK Governor,” said Waweru.
