Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga may never set foot in Nairobi’s Kayole Estate again after what he did last Sunday.

Kayole residents are breathing fire and are unhappy with the CORD leader and his people for duping them.

Raila and his entourage refused to attend aharambee intended to raise funds towards medical and funeral expenses of late Walter Okeyo Mbata, a former Kayole Councillor and an ODM strongman.

Raila, who was expected to be the chief guest, failed to show up and never even sent apologies or representative leaving poor mourners furious and dejected and with huge bills because everything they had prepared for the former PM and his convoy went to waste.

Not even elected leaders like MCA Elizabeth Manyala turned up for the event held at Social Hall Two.

Residents and local ODM leaders have now said Raila Odinga is a wanted man in Kayole and threatened to reconsider their support for him in 2017.

“We have learnt that Raila Odinga and ODM’s top leadership are selective and do not like some of us from South Nyanza, Governor Evans Kidero included,” said Naman Ogweno, one of the organizers of the event.

“We are telling them not to take out support for granted, and this message must reach Raila,” he added.

Only sh57, 000 was collected at the event which is just a drop in the ocean.
