Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, has finally revealed the politician who ordered the killing of former Embakasi MP, Melitus Mugabe Were, and former Kabete MP, George Muchai.
Mugabe was killed in January 2008 while Muchai was assassinated along Kenyatta Avenue in 2015.
Speaking in Kiambu County on Sunday, Mike Sonko revealed that it is a current Member of Parliament who killed the two leaders for political expediency.
Sonko said it is Kabete MP, Ferdinand Waititu, who killed Were after he lost the Embakasi Parliamentary seat. After killing Were, a by -election was held and Waititu won the seat.
Also after Muchai was assassinated in 2015, Waititu vied for the Kabete parliamentary seat and he again won.
Waitutu fell out with Sonko after he endorsed Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, for the Nairobi Governorship position in 2017.
“Kuna matapeli wengine tumefukuza kule Nairobi kwa sababu ya utapeli na wizi. Hata wameua wabunge wengine ndio wapate kuchaguliwa
(there are some conmen we have chased away from Nairobi because of their activities. They have even killed other MPs so that they can be elected),” Sonko said.
Sonko made these remarks while he was accompanied by Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo.
