President Uhuru Kenyatta now faces a serious rebellion from his own Central Kenya home turf as a section of leaders from Nyeri County are now contemplating severing links with him.

This is after it emerged that he is hell-bent on sacrificing suspended Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary, Eng. Michael Kamau, for his friend and retired Chief of Kenya Defence Forces, Major General Julius Karangi.

This was revealed by ex-President Mwai Kibaki’s wife and Othaya MP, Mary Wambui, and her Mukurwe-Ini counterpart, Kabando wa Kabando, who accused Uhuru and Mt. Kenya power brokers of using the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to finish Kamau, who is among the few remaining Kibaki remnants in the Jubilee Government.

Addressing journalists, Kabando said Kamau was a victim of Central Kenya power play where people close to President Kenyatta have plotted to remove him to create room for Julius Karangi to join Cabinet.

He noted that the EACC had lost the moral authority to conduct independent investigations and cannot be trusted to do justice for Kamau since it is being used by Mt. Kenya Mafia to force the suspended CS out of the Cabinet.

This comes even as Kamau appeared in court on Thursday to answer to corruption charges where he pleaded not guilty.

He was flanked by Othaya MP, Mary Wambui and her Kieni counterpart, Kanini Kega, who showed solidarity with him.

Kamau and Karangi both come from Nyeri County.
