The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) top brass has resolved to call for the resignation of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman, Ababu Namwamba, over graft allegations.

Speaking at Kasupul Kabondo Constituency on Saturday during the burial of Homa Bay nominated County Rep, Celestine Owidi, leaders led by ODM chairman, John Mbadi, said Namwamba and his team should resign from their seats because of graft and corruption allegations.

Mbadi claimed that a number of PAC members were not supposed to serve in the committee because they have been compromised by senior State officers who are linked to corruption.

“It is true that the image of PAC is tainted through corruption. There are serious allegations of corruption gripping the committee as a number of its members including its key leaders have been compromised in one way or the other,” said Mbadi.

“PAC must be resolved to redeem the image of Parliament. Our legislation work should not be put to test through mere corruption cases,” Mbadi added

Mbadi, who spoke with the blessings of former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate the allegations reported in PAC.
