Ababu Namwamba
Raila Now drives the last nail in Ababu's coffin as he buries his only hope to survive
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga yesterday cancelled CORD’s Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting aimed at discussing corruption allegations leveled against ODM Secretary General and Budalangi MP, Ababu Namwamba, at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) with an aim of bailing him out.
Raila, through the Minority Chief Whip, Thomas Mwandegu, cancelled the PG meeting at the eleventh hour on the pretext that it was a wrong forum to discuss such matters.
Mwandegu sent text messages to CORD legislators not to come for the meeting because it had been called off by the former PM himself and did not explain much, only that it was a wrong forum to discuss Namwamba and corruption at PAC.
On Monday, the embattled Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chair sent a text message to his colleagues to come for the PG meeting where he will get a chance to explain himself over corruption allegations and enlist the coalition’s support as he seeks to nail the vampires of corruption permanently, only for Raila to call off the meeting and burry his only hope of surviving at the PAC completely.
“Best regards Mhesh. Walking the right side of history is a journey full of peril. I am faced by a classic case of vampires of corruption fighting back viciously. Please come to our coalition PG tomorrow at 9 am to help me confront impunity,” begged Namwamba in a text message sent to his fellow MPs before the worst happened yesterday.
Raila is said not to be happy with the on goings at the PAC and wants Namwamba and his comrades in crime to face justice if found guilty.
