UDM aspirant in the Homa Bay Senatorial by-election, Silas Jakakimba, has accused a section of ODM legislators of forcing former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, to support Moses Kajwang - the ODM candidate in the race.

Speaking to the press, Jakakimba revealed that the former PM told him that he was being pushed to the wall by ODM MPs to support Kajwang but his heart is somewhere else.

He noted that the former PM told him everything that is happening in ODM with regard to the Homa Bay race, saying even his endorsement of Kajwang’ at Fidel Odinga’s burial was not his own idea but pressure from some quarters.

“Raila Odinga is being pushed and blackmailed to support Moses Kajwang’ by a section of ODM luminaries who even forced him to declare his support for him when he was burying his son, Fidel. It is the same group that do not want to give the former PM enough time to mourn his son,” said Jakakimba.

“I accompanied Raila Odinga to Jaramogi Oginga’s Mausoleum on Monday and he told me everything. The fact that he took too long to endorse Kajwang is enough evidence that that he was not impressed by ODM’s decision to hand him a direct ticket,” he continued.

He warned ODM leaders to leave Raila Odinga alone to mourn his son and make independent choices.
